New and improved Schüco ASS 70 FD bi-fold door system

The Schüco ASS 70 FD bi-fold system has long been a mainstay of both residential and commercial buildings – and now Schüco has improved its technical values. The ASS 70 FD system is available in a more diverse range of vent widths, meaning fewer vents are needed and therefore fewer aluminium sightlines.

The thermally insulated Schüco ASS 70 FD bi-fold system offers a wide choice of opening types, is fully adjustable, has even larger opening widths and extremely quiet movement. The new maximum vent width of 1500 mm is available in an HD design for Schüco ASS 70 FD bi-fold units. Furthermore, the maximum vent weight has increased to 150 kg.

The new technical values have been achieved to offer class-leading sightlines and features while continuing to meet the quality, specifications and expectations of the original Schüco ASS 70 FD system.

Other new features and benefits include a 90° corner opening that opens both inwards and outwards. There is also a new flat threshold profile with optimised drainage, a magnetic retaining catch to facilitate vent locking and a screw-fixed corner and T-cleats for easier on-site installation. Additionally, the new ASS 70 FD system has been PAS  24 tested. These improvements offer further aesthetic benefits such as greater transparency due to minimal aluminium sightlines.

All of these improvements are advantageous to both the fabricator and the customer. Fewer vents mean less fabrication time, which in turn means a lower overall cost for the customer.

The original Schüco ASS 70 FD already offers additional design options thanks to the opening type with a 90° corner. These improvements offer further aesthetic benefits such as greater transparency due to minimal aluminium sightlines.

Furthermore, the ASS 70 FD system previously required 4 panels, but the bigger vents have made is possible for the system to achieve the same size door as a 3-panel model.
