Over 300 Optima windows from Profile 22 have been installed in a private housing development in Chipping near Preston in Lancashire.
The project specified flush casement windows in 7016 anthracite on white, which would provide a classic heritage appearance and would be perfect for the development’s village setting. The windows needed to have a U value of 1.4 W/m²K for thermal efficiency and meet PAS24:2016 and Secured by Design requirements so they would exceed the security standards of Document Q of Building Regulations.
Sonia Travis, Head of Commercial Sales at Profile 22, was able to offer valuable input on the window specification. “I could see that the larger windows would need to use our Flush Tilt & Turn Window with an astragal bar to give the aesthetics required and ensure the project met both PAS24:2016 requirements and complied with Document Q of Building Regulations. This was accepted by the developer”.
The fabrication and installation contract was carried out by Profile 22 Approved Contractor Kingfisher Windows, a leading manufacturer and supplier of windows, doors and conservatories. As an experienced contractor, Kingfisher Windows is used to working with new build developers and on projects involving tight timescales on busy construction sites. It meant that the windows were fabricated and installed smoothly and efficiently.
With the homes now complete, Chipping has a sensitively designed, high-quality small housing development that brings much-needed homes to the local area. Jonny Reynolds of Kingfisher Windows commented: “The development is in keeping with the local surroundings without compromising on thermal efficiency or security. We are very pleased with the results.”
