Hardware expert VBH has further expanded its range of locking systems for outward opening casement windows with the introduction of the greenteQ Invicta Non-Crop shootbolt.
The product joins the original Invicta shootbolt in a greenteQ casement lock line up that now includes eight options.
As the name suggests, Invicta Non-Crop allows the fabricator to simply drop the shootbolt extensions into place within the window sash without having to measure/mark and cut them to length.
A strong steel cover plate then secures the extensions into place, ensuring a solid connection to the gearbox.
VBH Marketing Manager Gary Gleeson says, “The non-crop method massively speeds up the fitting time against standard shootbolts, is less messy, and means that the fabricator has no steel offcuts to dispose of.”
The system consists of a gearbox, in a choice of industry standard 20 or 22mm backsets, and a series of extensions to cover sash sizes up to 1560mm.
VBH advise that Invicta is suitable for windows where a high security locking system is required and is compatible with the most popular PVCu and aluminium window systems.
Once fitted, security is provided by adjustable mushroom cams on the gearbox and extensions, and steel shootbolts that have two settings to allow penetration of the profile if desired.
greenteQ Invicta Non-Crop is approved for use on Q-secure installations. Q-secure is VBH’s homeowner security guarantee scheme, which promises to pay the homeowner up to £9000 in compensation if a break in is successfully achieved due to hardware failure.
Gary adds “Invicta Non-Crop sits alongside the original variant, giving fabricators a choice of a standard crop or non-crop fitting procedures. Of course, both options provide high levels of security performance and are exceptionally smooth to operate by the consumer.”
