Specialist aluminium fabricator CDW Systems has announced that it is set to merge with its sister company, supplier and installer Clearway Doors & Windows.
Both businesses boast more than 30 years in the industry and in 2010 the Gloucester-based CDW bought out the Cheltenham-based Clearway.
The merger will see Clearway become a division of CDW Systems, with Clearway continuing to be used for the supply and install side of the business, with all the trade supply coming under CDW.
All installation work will continue to be carried out from the Cheltenham site, with all manufacturing and production moved from Cheltenham to Gloucester. All sales and processing will move from Gloucester to Cheltenham while Gloucester will house a dedicated technical department.
The company is working towards getting everything in place by July 31 at the latest and Managing Director Jeremy Phillips said: “This is an exciting move for both our customers and both CDW and Clearway. At present we manufacture different products at different sites, so customers are having to source some from one and some from the other which can be confusing.
“What this gives our trade supply side of the business is a much more straight forward offering and a much clearer picture for customers as they’ll be able to buy all our product range from CDW.”
The company has been informing staff, main suppliers and customers of the move and all have been positive, said Jeremy.
“Bringing the expertise of the group together instead of working as separate companies will make us more streamlined for customers and suppliers. With all administration brought together, we will have more personnel to process quotes and deal with queries, while having one centre of excellence for production will mean all our resources will be in one place, making us more efficient.”
