Shelforce has been nominated for Excellence in Manufacturing Award at the 2024 Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce Awards.
The leading window and door manufacturer, a service within Birmingham City Council, produces high-quality PVCu and aluminium products to local authority building projects, including fire doors, and is one of 78 businesses chasing glory at the awards.
The awards recognise the remarkable achievements of businesses across Greater Birmingham and celebrate those firms who have gone above and beyond in the past year.
Shelforce has been recognised by the judging panel for its unwavering commitment to excellence and maintaining high standards in the manufacturing sector and the mark the company has left on the economic landscape and community fabric of Greater Birmingham. It’s commitment to inclusivity in the workplace saw Shelforce receive the King’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility) last year.
Shelforce is one of four businesses up for Excellence in Manufacturing, while one of the 11 category winners will be crowned the overall Greater Birmingham Business of the Year – which Shelforce won three years ago.
Howard Trotter, Shelforce Business Manager, said: “We are thrilled and delighted to be nominated for the Excellence in Manufacturing award. This acknowledgment is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team at Shelforce, who continually strive for excellence in all facets of our manufacturing processes.
“We were delighted to be crowned the overall Greater Birmingham Business of the Year in 2021 and it ultimately gave us the confidence to enter and win the King’s Award for Enterprise.”
The winners will be announced at the black-tie dinner and awards, which is sponsored by Birmingham University and will be attended by around 1,200 people, on February 15 at The ICC in Birmingham city centre.
