On Thursday 18th May, Conservatory Outlet welcomed members from across its Premium Retail Network to North Lanarkshire for its annual golf day. The event is one of the most-respected competitions in the calendar and, now in its tenth iteration, it is one of the longest-running too.
Held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Westerwood, the tournament saw entrants from across the United Kingdom vie for both team and individual honours.
“This year marked the first time that we’ve taken our annual Golf Open north of the border, and it was fantastic to see such a healthy representation from our Scottish premium retailers. With it being the tenth time we’ve run competition, we felt it was only right to head to the ‘home of golf’ to celebrate.” said Greg Kane, Conservatory Outlet.
“Our annual Network Golf Open is a much-loved event that everyone in the Conservatory Outlet Network looks forward to. It also allows our Premium Retail Partners to come together for a competitive round of golf and discuss strategies with other like-minded businesses.
“It really does show the collective strength of our Network, which is second to none,” Greg added.
The weather provided a customary mix of cloud and sunshine, with the local course pro describing the temperature as ‘Scottish warm’. Throw in a blustery wind, thick rough and the course, designed by Seve Ballesteros, played tough.
But those conditions didn’t deter Amber Home Improvements, who ran away to secure the overall team prize, seeing off strong competition from across the UK.
Justin Brown of Bon Accord triumphed in the Nearest the Pin competition, whilst Steve Ormand of DigitalKOG took the honours for the day’s longest drive.
“A huge congratulations to Amber,” added Greg Kane. “They have been stalwarts of this competition for years, and they’ve long been overdue a victory. Importantly, it gives them Network-wide bragging rights for the next twelve months.”
“We’re thrilled to have won the Conservatory Outlet Network Golf Open Day,” commented Amber Home Improvement’s Sales Director, Paul Edwards.
“It’s always a fantastic event, and this year’s competition was no different. A huge thank you to Conservatory Outlet for organising another enjoyable day. We’re already looking forward to defending our crown next year!”
