Warwick North West drives industry change at Labour Conference

Warwick North West, a leading uPVC and aluminium fabricator based in Bootle in the Liverpool City Region, continues to push for positive change in the glazing industry, with Managing Director Greg Johnson taking the company’s message to the Labour Party Conference and national airwaves.

Greg Johnson played a prominent role at the recent Labour Party Conference in Liverpool, engaging with key political figures and participating in crucial discussions about the future of housing and sustainability in the UK.

Throughout the conference, Greg met with influential leaders including Metro Mayors Andy Burnham and Steve Rotheram, and Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner. These high-level discussions focused on the role of the fenestration industry in the decarbonisation of homes and addressing the housing crisis.

Central to these discussions was Warwick North West’s Modus window system, supplied by their key partner Eurocell. This cutting-edge product achieves U-values as low as 0.7 W/m²K, exceeding the requirements of the upcoming Future Homes Standard. Available in a range of styles including standard, slim rebate, and flush sash options, Modus offers versatility to suit various architectural needs while maintaining superior energy efficiency.

Greg’s advocacy extended to national media, with an appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live alongside political broadcaster Matt Chorley. During the interview, Greg discussed the critical need for building more homes, emphasising the importance of diverse housing types – from social and affordable to luxury – all with sustainability at the forefront.

“The path toward net-zero is a key priority for us at Warwick,” Greg stated during the interview. “Unlocking the potential of brownfield sites through reform in the planning system will be pivotal in achieving this goal.”

This political engagement comes at a time of strong performance for Warwick North West. The company recently announced a surge in sales, with figures reaching £387,000 in a single week in September, well above the usual weekly average of £250,000. The company’s order book stands at £6.2 million, 6% higher than the same point last year.

Warwick North West’s commitment to growth and innovation is further evidenced by its recent investment in a new Schirmer machining centre, set to create up to eight new jobs at its Bootle factory.

As Warwick North West continues to drive discussions on sustainability and housing, the company is also celebrating its shortlisting for Fabricator of the Year at the national G-Awards, further cementing its position as an industry leader.
