Swisspacer focusses on complete recycling

Warm edge is re-integrated into the production cycle

Swisspacer will launch a new recycling system in 2025. This system will make it possible to fully recycle thermoplastic materials. Initially, production residues from the company’s own production will be recycled, but recyclable materials from customers can also be integrated into the production cycle in the near future.

With the new recycling system, the leading manufacturer of warm edge spacer bars is taking the next step in its sustainability strategy. Whereas previously only a limited amount of the company’s own production residues could be recycled, the new process enables 100 percent of the pre-consumer material to be returned to the production process.

This makes a significant contribution to creating a closed material cycle so that valuable resources can be reused efficiently. “With our new system, we are utilising the full potential of the material. This is a decisive step forward in our sustainability strategy,” explains Dariusz Lewandowski, Head of Operations at Swisspacer.

No compromises on product performance
Swisspacer is committed to recycling without compromising on quality – even with a higher proportion of recycled materials. “Our latest recycling technologies allow us to theoretically use up to 50 percent recycled material – without compromising on performance,” explains Marie Guin, R&D Innovation Partner at Swisspacer. “This is in line with our claim to always deliver the highest quality,” continues Guin.

Zero waste as a strategic goal
In the long term, Swisspacer has set itself the goal of achieving zero-waste production and thus supporting the circular economy in the construction industry. Packaging is also gradually being replaced with recycled materials in order to minimise the overall carbon footprint.

Swisspacer will also expand its recycling strategy to include taking back unused spacer bars from customers and integrating them into the production cycle. With this strategy, Swisspacer is not only pursuing its own sustainability goals, but also enabling its customers to actively contribute to the circular economy and better achieve their own sustainability goals.
