New Securistyle window restrictor provides safe ventilation for high-rises

Securistyle has unveiled the new Sterling Advanced Detachable Restrictor – a NYCDoH-accredited window restrictor that provides safe ventilation in high-rise commercial buildings.

Designed with safety and security in mind, the window restrictor prevents users from opening the window past a certain distance while enabling them to let fresh air into the room.

Its 15.5mm and 13mm brackets have been specifically designed for both standard and slim channels in aluminium profiles. When installed with Securistyle’s Sterling or Storm Balanced heavy-duty hinges, it can be used on either top-hung or side-hung vents.

Crucially, the Sterling Advanced Detachable Restrictor has been approved by the New York City Department of Health (NYCDoH) for compliance with its falls programme– testifying to its safety when used in high-rise commercial buildings such as office towers and hotels.

Suitable for 16mm-18mm hardware cavities, the easy-to-fit solution features a crack stop design for a positive stop and a unique locking pin design that enables simple detachment and engagement of the restrictor stay via a key for authorized release only.

Its composite stainless steel and plastic slider provide strength and durability, while its austenitic 304 stainless steel ensures enhanced corrosion resistance.

For added peace of mind, the product comes with a 12-year mechanical guarantee and a 12-year surface finish guarantee. It is also tested to EN 13126-5 for height windows, achieving Grade 1 in impact testing.

Richard Gurmin, Head of Commercial Business Development, comments: “Our new Securistyle Sterling Advanced Detachable Restrictor combines excellent safety, versatility, and ease of installation. Add to this its NYCDoH-accreditation and the full technical and sales support that we always offer at Securistyle, and it’s an outstanding option for aluminium profile companies.

“The product is the latest in a series of exciting new developments that show our continuing investments in innovation, including our new Yale Mustang window lock and Yale Expede window bracket.”
