Leading aluminium fabricator CDW Systems has been recognised for its contribution towards a greener and more sustainable future.
The Gloucester-based business, along with its sister company Clearway Doors & Windows, received an award from its main profile supplier Technal UK (Hydro Building Systems).
Having ordered 44 tonnes to date of Circal 75R, Hydro’s high quality 75% recycled aluminium profiles CDW has helped save 378 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
CDW’s Group Chairman Jeremy Phillips, who received the award on behalf of both companies from Hydro’s Managing Director Allan Barr and its UK Customer Services Manager Mark Graham, said: “Technal UK enables us to provide our customers with a viable green and sustainable option and we are proud to receive this prestigious award from them.
“It’s really pleasing that in using Technal Profiles that utilize Circal 75R alloy as much as possible we can contribute towards reducing our carbon footprint. We have been able to work closely with Technal (Hydro) whose UK HQ is only a few miles away from both CDW and Clearway at Tewkesbury.
“This reinforces the sustainability credentials of aluminium. We are also looking at more efficient ways that both our factory waste and post-consumer waste can be recycled.”
CDW Systems, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, specialises in the trade supply of aluminium window, door, and curtain wall products from the leading aluminium systems houses in the UK.
Allan Barr, Managing Director of Hydro, commented: “It’s great pleasure to recognise the work CDW Systems has done to lower their carbon emissions by using Technal Profiles that are sourced using Hydro Circal 75R alloy and we are looking forward to this sustainable partnership continuing well into the future. Great achievement by all at CDW Systems.”
