Shelforce is set to supply 72 of its Fireshel fire doors for installation in a sheltered housing scheme on Belgrave Middleway in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
Following the success of a previous fire door supply and installation project across three blocks of flats in the city, construction giant Wates have ordered more doors from the Birmingham window and door manufacturer.
Appointed by Birmingham City Council to deliver its flagship responsive repairs and maintenance programme across the city, Wates again turned to Shelforce for the fire doors required for its latest project.
Daniel Camp, Operations Manager of Wates, explained: “Shelforce really delivered an exemplary service with their Fireshel doors from start to finish on our last project, and they have huge experience when it comes to delivering Local Authority projects.
“We are continuing the support with orders set for the next three 3 years as we roll out a wider flat entrance door replacement programme.”

All Fireshel fire doors have been fire and smoke tested from both the inside and outside and PAS 024 Security tested. The door set complete with fanlight glazing panel achieved 49 minutes fire resistance when EN1634-1 tested allowing piece of mind when specifying a Fire Door solution for any local authority or housing association replacement project.
