Shelforce has launched the new Fireshel 30-minute fire resistant door – and the specialist Local Authority window and door manufacturer already has several hundred orders in the pipe-line.
The Birmingham-based company specialises in providing quality products for local authority building projects and its fire door solution will be perfect for local authorities who need fully EN tested 3rd Party, replacement fire door sets, that are compliant with the latest 2020 MHCLG Annex A recommendations.
All Fireshel fire doors have been fire and smoke tested from both the inside and outside and PAS 024 Security tested.
The low maintenance Fireshel solid 30-minute fire-rated door set complete with fanlight glazing panel achieved 49 minutes fire resistance when EN1634-1 tested, allowing peace of mind when specifying a fire door solution for any local authority or housing association replacement project.
The Fireshel composite fire door utilises the FireFrame® dual fire, smoke and security compliant fire door set solution from Winkhaus, which includes the FD30 / FD60 FireFrame® outerframe, and the Winkhaus AV2 auto-locking multi-point door lock with optional access control. Fireshel tested to resist security and fire include TS008 compliant letter plates, numerals, eye viewers, door knockers and security chains.
The multi tested Fireshel fire and security door set solution manufactured by Shelforce has achieved all the new stringent recommendations set by the MHCLG and has proven fire resistance consistency, fire tested many times to the EN1634 -1. When applicable Shelforce could provide a fully CE marked solution which is required for all external fire doors.
The Shelforce Fireshel fire door has also been tested to achieve PAS24 security. Q Mark 3rd Party independent audits inspect the Fireshel for both fire and security compliance.
Using the Shelforce Fireshel system offers the end-user assurance that all the components used in the manufacture of the doors have been tested and approved against the new 2020 Q Mark Fire and Security Composite door Set requirements.
Howard Trotter, Business Manager at Shelforce, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have had our field of application rubber stamped to manufacture fire doors.
“We have been working on this for two years and it’s been wonderful working with the likes of Winkhaus to make it happen.
“Safety and security in any building should never be compromised and our fire door has been designed and tested to meet the highest standards to ensure that it exceeds current safety regulations.”
Shelforce is planning on offering a comprehensive fire door package with its Fireshel system, ranging from fabrication through to installation, maintenance and repair.
“The latest Government advice suggests that building owners must replace existing fire doors if they don’t meet current fire or smoke resistance performance and those new fire doors will then need to be routinely inspected and maintained by a suitably qualified professional,” said Howard.
“Our fire doors will help local authorities to ensure that all their tenants are living in a safe and secure environment. And we will also be able to provide the peace of mind that they will be inspected, maintained and repaired afterwards too.
“Having worked with local authorities for many years, we understand what they need, and we want to provide the complete fire door package to make it as easy for them as possible.”
