Epwin Windows Systems have been confirmed as a finalist for the G18 Awards. Gerald Allen, Marketing Manager of Epwin Window Systems, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted in the new Sustainability Initiative of the Year category. As a business, Epwin Window Systems has a clear commitment towards sustainability and was one of the first businesses to apply and achieve certification for the VinylPlus label across our product range. Therefore, we are delighted to have been shortlisted in this category.”
As Gerald mentions, Epwin Window Systems was one of the first companies to achieve VinylPlus Product Label, but this is just the latest example of the company’s trail-blazing commitment to sustainability. Epwin Window Systems is also certified to BRE standard BES 6001. The standard describes a framework for the organisational governance, supply chain management and environmental and social aspects that must be addressed in order to ensure the responsible sourcing of construction products.
In 2017 the company won the BPF Energy Award for the facility BPF/F00150 within the Climate Change Agreement. The award was given in recognition of Epwin Window Systems’ considerable ongoing commitment to energy reduction throughout its Telford extrusion plant where all its main profile systems are produced. Further, it won the Sustainable Business Award from Business Environmental Support Scheme Telford (BESST) 2017, for Carbon and Energy Management.
Gerald concludes: “The G Awards is an opportunity for the industry to celebrate and we wish all the finalists on the night the best of luck.”
